“The beauty of growing up is the wisdom that comes with it!”
– Connie Ferguson
It’s humorous to see that there is an undeniable parallel drawn between the perceptive age of adulthood and the age that someone can legally drink. The world builds anticipation for aging — a feel similar to getting a test passed back they already know they failed.
If alcohol is the world’s gift for being an adult and alcoholism is the third-leading cause of preventable death in the United States, what hope for the future is there?
By now, most people have heard the term “generational trauma”. The overall concept that your struggles aren’t just your own but the pain of your ancestors has made the world take a collective breath — or maybe, we all lost our breath.
On this page, I’m going to post information for how control your breathing again — both literally and physically.
Seriously. Take a deep breath right now. Did you even know your lungs could hold that much air since you’ve been taking in those shallows inhales for the last 23 hours?
More seriously, I want to encourage every person reading this to understand that you are a miracle. Because even despite the pain and trauma your family may have gone through, you’re still here. You are born from a line of champions of life! YOU are destined to continue that line.
Now, how do you want to leave your mark?
Let’s make adulting synonymous with living so that mark shows you truly are.
Wait. . .
What does it even mean to be an “adult”?
The age that someone is considered an adult varies state by state, country by country. Typically, the age range for adulthood goes from 18 to 21 with the age 25 lingering in the future combined with the promise of frontal lobe development.
The world cannot unanimously pinpoint when you’ll enter adulthood, but you can prepare yourself to be your best self.
As a young adult trying to grow upright in this world, I know how hard it can be to get your ducks in order. Learning how to build credit, invest money, and build retirement are just a few economic challenges we face. How to build meaningful relationships, a prosperous career, and maintain your self-worth are less focused on challenges during the upbringing of many.
On this page, you will find blog posts providing information on varying topics that might help enrich and enhance your growing adult life. But, I don’t need to wait for a blog post to congratulate you, reader!
Congratulations on adapting to the ever-changing world we’re all used to by this point. You are the embodiment of evolution.
